I’m an outdoor lifestyle photographer and content creator based in Boulder, Colorado. I had the opportunity to work with a brand called Free Country, an outdoor apparel brand that focuses on high-quality yet affordable outdoor gear. I tried one of their softshell jackets for a social media campaign. The campaign involved an Instagram post with at least one photo as well as an Instagram story. Here is a link to the Instagram post. The content from the post is below.
Let’s talk about jackets! I’d say jackets are one of the most important pieces of outdoor gear for hiking and exploring. Investing in versatile, comfortable, and high-quality jackets will make make your outdoor adventures so much more enjoyable. That’s why I was excited to try the @freecountryapparel Horizon II Super Softshell Jacket, and I’m excited to share about it today.
First, I want to talk about Free Country as a brand. This company really values outdoor accessibility. They work to provide high-quality, affordable outdoor gear to make everyday adventures more accessible for everyone. I can really get behind that.
Now here’s what I thought of this jacket!
I took this the jacket out on a hike last week and really liked it! The jacket is soft, lightweight, and comfortable. It was also surprisingly warm. The weather was sunny and about 30 degrees, but I felt warm enough with just a wool base layer and this jacket. The inside is lined with soft fleece and the outside shell is wind/water resistant. I think it would be a great transitional jacket for spring or fall. Plus, the longline style adds extra warmth and coverage. Overall, it’s warm, comfortable, stylish, and affordable. Big fan.
